While it is still unclear what, if anything, will come from all the talk in Washington about increased gun control legislation, there is one thing that is undeniable. The fear of decreased gun rights has spurred something of a stampede to get firearms, and concealed weapons permits. In states across the country people are flocking to licensing areas to sign up for classes and get their concealed weapons permit.

There are many different reasons for wanting to purchase a firearm and get a permit to be able to carry it with you, but right now most people who were previously just considering it are taking action. Gun shops in virtually every area of the country have reported a surge in demand for nearly every type of firearm they sell. Even the ammunition, magazines and other accessories are being sold out at a record pace.

The primary reason people are taking action right now is because of the fact that government officials ranging from first term congressmen to the President of the United States himself are pushing for increased gun control legislation. At this point nobody knows what, if anything, will come of all this talk but most people want to make sure they get the firearm they desire today. They believe that if they continue to wait, it might be illegal to purchase in the next few weeks or months.
